The house, a 2 minutes drive from the village of Mercatale Val di Pesa, is situated in the Chianti countryside offering splendid views on the surrounding hills with vineyards and olive-groves. It is an ideal lcation for a quiet, comfortable and relaxing holiday, but all services are within easy reach and Florence is just half an hour drive away.
The building with its tower dates back to the 12th century and has been a staging post on the Francigian way between Florence and Siena. A few years back a thorough and conservative type of restoration saveguarded the typical artistic-architectural Tuscan elements, like the floors in terracotta and the ceilings, several doors and the roof-tiles.

On a surface of about 3200sq feet the house offers one double bedroom with en suite bathroom with bathtub, one twin bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower, two twin bedrooms, one bathroom with shower, two living-rooms with iron stoves and a large living-room (a restored old barn) with a fire place. The house is furnished with ancient pieces and there is a piano. The fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher) has a fire-place; in the laundry there is a washing-machine and a dryer.
There are a loggia and a large terrace attached to the house and outside there is a spacious parking-lot, a large garden, a swimming-pool (130x54square feet, with marine-salt sterilization) and a barbecue.

The owner lives with a very gentle dog and a cat in an adjacent, entirely independent apartment with own garden.

The house Montrogoli offers space for up to 8 persons and is available for touristic rentals during the summer season.
